UPDATE 9/6/2017: We have a lot of activity happening at the community this week. Our national cleanup crew is in there now with more than 40 workers scattered around cleaning. Almost all of the first-floor apartments are empty and we have already started picking up the flooring. Drywall is being replaced in all apartments and all common area spaces, which they have begun doing. Floors 2, 3 and 4 are in perfect shape. We are pushing forward to move residents back into these floors as soon as possible and we will provide that timeline shortly.

UPDATE 9/2/2017: Effective now we are scheduling all first-floor residents/families who wish to move furniture out of their apartment. We need all first-floor families to contact the community as soon as possible to schedule a time to come and facilitate this move.

We will be open all day today, tomorrow and Monday to allow families to make these moves. We do have limited space on upper floors to store furniture, or for a permanent move to an upper floor, but this space is a first come first serve basis. We need first-floor families to move out all apartment belongings as soon as possible, so we can begin restoration of the apartments. We are also scheduling times for cars to be accessed and removed from the parking lot.

RESIDENT UPDATE 8/30/17: Champion Forest residents arrived at Discovery Village At Castle Hills in Lewisville, TX last night. Most will be staying there but some arranged to have family members pick them up. Our new friends were welcomed with open arms from the fabulous team and residents we have there. The onsite team arranged to have all the necessities ready for them in their apartments such as snacks, water, all toiletry items, laundry detergent/softener, etc. All slept well in their apartments last night and enjoyed their meals. We have increased our staffing here to help accommodate everyone and even team members families are volunteering to help in any way they can. We couldn’t ask for a better group of team members!

CHAMPION FOREST UPDATE 8/30/17: Since we are not currently operational, we have arranged for 24-hoursecurity of the building from an outside company. Someone will be on watch all day and all night to safeguard the building and its belongings. We have also been working diligently in obtaining a National Restoration Contractor to assist us in assessing the damages and we have already contracted with a company. As soon as we have the “go ahead” that it is safe to enter the building, we will start our assessment of the community. Please check back again for continued updates.

UPDATE AS OF 8/29/17 at 9:30 AM: All residents from Conservatory At Champion Forest were safely transported to our sister community, Conservatory At Alden Bridge last night (8/28/17). All residents had a warm, dry, comfortable place to sleep last night and enjoyed a hot breakfast this morning. Residents who have not already been picked up by family members are going to be transported to our sister community, Discovery Village At Castle Hills in Lewisville at around noon today. Discovery Senior Living has been carefully monitoring the flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey in Harris County, Texas and is complying with the mandatory ordered evacuation. Residents of Conservatory At Champion Forest are being evacuated to our sister community, Conservatory At Alden Bridge in The Woodlands, Texas. Our resident safety is paramount and all of our communities in the Texas area are lending a helping hand to make the evacuation as efficient as possible, with the least amount of disruption. We are very fortunate to have a network of communities and professional team members in the area that we can call upon in this emergency. We will continue to monitor the situation and work with all local authorities. Our thanks go out to the brave men and women providing emergency services to all the residents affected in the Houston area and throughout Texas.
