Naples, Florida (June 12, 2018) – Discovery Senior Living, located in Bonita Spring Florida creates a team of volunteers and raises $2,860 for community Relay for Life, an internationally known fundraising organization who support individuals and families whose lives have been affected by cancer. Team members from the corporation selected this cause as it is one close to their hearts- as many of them have been or know someone affected by cancer.
Through donations, volunteers, and a generous corporate match, Discovery Senior Living was able to raise money in support of the American Cancer Society.
Relay for Life is a community-based team fundraising event that is locally and internationally known. On Saturday, April 14th, 2018 Discovery Senior Living Relay Team, “Discovery a Cure” joined many other teams at the 2018 Naples, Florida Relay for Life Event to take shifts walking around a track for a length of 6-24 hours. One team member continued walking at all times to signify that cancer never sleeps. Each event is themed, and the Discovering a Cure team dressed in their distinctive orange team shirts. Throughout the event, teams mingled and browsed vendor tables that were donating proceeds to the event. Everyone enjoyed the live music and entertainment provided on a stage in the middle of the field as they walked for hours around the track.
